What is VisioLab?

VisioLab is an AI-powered self-checkout system. The AI software on the iPad recognises items by appearance — no barcode, no scanning. Guests place their items, confirm, and pay in under 10 seconds.

Is VisioLab a full back-of-house system or just a checkout add-on?

Both, depending on how you use it. VisioLab can run as a standalone checkout with VisioHub handling all back-of-house functions — sales reporting, stock tracking, and transaction history. If you already run a POS or ERP, it easily integrates with those systems.

How does the AI recognition work?

The AI software on the iPad recognises each item in under a second — by appearance alone. No barcode, no RFID, no manual input.

How long does it take to train the AI for a new menu?

Menu updates are managed through VisioHub. For each new item: take 5–20 photos (under 5 seconds per image), assign a price, and trigger an AI retrain. The retrain takes 3–5 minutes and requires no technical knowledge. Daily menu changes are available before service starts.

Does the camera record customers or staff?

No. The camera captures the tray area only and does not record or store images of people. No facial recognition, no personal data collected. VisioLab does not store facial data or personal identifiers. Item recognition is based on visual product characteristics only. Data is processed and stored in accordance with GDPR.

What hardware is included in the kit?

The kit includes the iPad and all mounting components. Everything is shipped ready to deploy.
